Global Connections Mission Statement
The Global Connections Committee envisions that every student will be able to travel to explore the world, weigh perspectives, connect ideas, and be an active leader in constructing a positive future. We are dedicated to helping Payton students and faculty broaden their perspectives by connecting them with travel opportunities in our community, country and abroad.
Connection with WPCP’s Vision and Mission
We strive to invigorate Payton students' experience by making deeper connections among disciplines, the global community and themselves.

Global Connections Spotlight

Hola Granada!
On March 15th  thirty Payton Spanish Students set off for a 10 day visit to the south of Spain.  The students will be taking classes at a local cultural institute, living with Spanish host families and discovering the rich history and culture of Granada.  The student travel group has started  collaborative blog that highlights their photos and reflections!

History of Payton's Global Connections

From the beginning it has been Payton's mission that as many students as possible, regardless of socioeconomic status, have the opportunity to experience first-hand the culture that they are studying during their four years at our school. The World Language Department has led trips to Chile, China, France, Spain, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Canada, and Costa Rica.  Several of these are ongoing exchanges with sister schools; others are collaborations with reputable language institutes in those countries. Every year we continue to develop new cultural and language immersion opportunities for our students.  In 2011 we were excited to offer two new exchange programs for our students with our sister schools in Argentina and Taiwan.

Payton also offers travel opportunities through other academic, music, community-based, service learning, seminar and sports programs.  Examples of these trips include exchanges with schools in the Czech Republic, Switzerland, South Africa, and Hungary.  The Humanities Festival has sponsored trips to England, France and Ghana.
This academic year we are proud to announce our newest programs with our sister schools in Birmingham, England and Beijing, China.

Payton faculty and students are also dedicated to volunteerism at the international level.  In recent years service trips with Habitat for Humanity, AMIGOS de las Americas and BuildOn have taken students to Ecuador, Guatemala, Mail, Ghana, and Malawi.
